looking through that quite extensive book of faces, i came across the “stats” page for rutgers. first of all, i’d like to admit that i’m slightly ashamed at the top 10’s of movies, books, and so on . . . tallying the most listed cultural pieces that adorn people’s profiles. (the davinci code just doesn’t cut it)
so that begins a list of books that i feel just flat out should not be your favorite book, for a slew of reasons to be expounded upon at a later date:
the davinci code [come on now, seriously]
catch-22 [great book, but simply not heller's best book - god knows is - and qualifies fairly for favorite]
the catcher in the rye [calling it your favorite book is the equivalent of calling kobe bryant the best player of all time in the nba. it's easy to be caught up in his amazing maneuvers and dominating skill, but if you take a few steps back, there is just no way . . . no f-in way]
“i could kind of see why catcher in the rye could be someone’s fav book…if they had add, went to private school, etc.” – dave goldman
tuesdays with morrie [exploitative]
gravity’s rainbow [pynchon is one of the most profound writers of our era, however a "favorite" must have a certain flow - if you can follow pynchonian flow, you (like pynchon) got issues, dude]
war and peace [hi, i read large books and use larger words. -compensate much?]
the great gatsby [ah, it's cliche . . . way cliche - but i guess bootleggers are cool (as much as long island isn't) and that green light grabbin was slightly badass in a way]
harry potter [ . . . haven't read it yet so i guess i'll get back to you, but i just have a feeling about this one]
pride and prejudice [um . . . i must admit i haven’t read this yet either, but . . . . no way for the same reasons (not exactly the same, as in any conventional notion of equivalence, but there is linkage) why chick comedians (without a specific shtick, at least) will never ever be as funny as dude comedians . . . that’s a whole other thing right there – you see . . . the chicks have nothing to be as pathologically funny about because of the way the universe works . . . <– i’ll save that for a rainy day
if you have any more suggestions or strong objections, call your congressman (he probably won’t be wearing his seatbelt either)

green green green
everyone is so green
hillary clinton and barrack and everyone is getting all carbon neutral; the trees are getting greener, nice weather, birds chirping and all of that lovely stuff . . .
10sne1?
harvard or stanford? stanford or harvard? not a bad spot to be in (not my spot, but a great spot to be in nonetheless)
“some people love it here; some people suck it up because the name is worth it”
harvard – for aspiring senators and other socialitic scumbags, but how can one turn down harvard if one is invited? [perhaps it's like the social phenomenon of one's attractiveness score to the opposite sex being directly proportional to the rating of those the person turns down . . . e.g. (is it eg or ie? i guess if i was a harvard alum then i would know the correct one) . . . e.g. the dude that turns down the supermodel is an idiot and suddenly much more popular and attractive . . . ] (true or false, talk amongst yourselves!)
certainly there is a left coast bias. but i don’t know. if you know (been there, done that? or simply have some light to shed on the decision beyond the obvious differences and princeton reviews and us news and world reports and the rest of those college board banging whoo-ers) then call my sister jessica and give her some words of wisdom.
speaking of smart kids and science, the reefer sometimes induces episodes of acute psychosis in a very small subset of the general population. certainly there is some kind of underlying condition in the brain that the thc simply exacerbates. there was interesting article about this that cited mri research done by scientists in london. inferior frontal cortex activity is reduced after administration of thc. this particular area, part of the frontal lobe, is indicated in inhibition of behavioral and emotional responses that would otherwise be inappropriate. the theory goes like this. thc turns that part off. in some individuals with already weakened emotional levees, the response crosses a threshold into psychosis land. ng. it turns out through the years, pot has been selected for higher and higher levels of thc, but at the cost of a natural tradeoff. there are much lower levels of cannabidiol (cbd,) another active ingredient in pot that naturally lessens anxiety (and the paranoia induced by an overeffective administration of thc.)

cadbury creme eggs have supposedly gotten smaller in the past two years. (12.3% smaller to be exact) still quite tasty in the morning, or any other time . . .
so the army lied about pat tillman, the nfl player that died at the hands of fellow army rangers (not gallantly fighting the evil-doers as the official report issued by the army goes.) the army lied about jessica lynch. the white house claims they did not know of the army cover-up. the white house, though, also knew of weapons of mass destruction, so what the white house knows and does not know at this point doesn’t even matter. personally, it’s quite insulting that certain government officials make the decision that the truth is unacceptable and instead a tall tale must be told. it’s not even a moralized spin upon an otherwise morally ambiguous incident; it’s a flat out fabrication. flat out fabrications are funked up, no matter how one looks at it.
and the cadbury creme eggs are still getting smaller . . .
why has the size changed?
“it hasn’t – you’ve just grown up!” – cadbury’s web page
i guess it’s all relative, governments and chocolateers and all the rest of the spin doctors and morale magicians – but we eat the chocolate and we like it as long as it doesn’t offend us too much.

so the last full week of class is upon us, for those of us who are still doing the college thing (specifically at the r.u.) that means, for me at least, that it’s guilt week. it’s the week where i go to class: every single class of the week. Since coming to Rutgers, that’s been done about nine times (I’ve been here for nine semesters.) . . .
spring -> sun setting past 7:45pm -> badass
