does anybody else remember the website blackornot.com?
what about apt 2f and austin stories? unfortunately the third millennium holds no such gems, none that i’ve seen at least.

the big-R is looming, so say the pundits [and not Rutgers football or basketball, that's for sure.] that means it must be time to divest and go running naked and screaming through the streets.

it’s a charlie brown monday morning; the great snow of ‘08 did not arrive.
on a much more real note, “across america: deadly echoes of foreign battles” [nytimes, 1/13/08]
it’s somewhat disturbing: the ripple effect following the sending a bunch of young men (and women) thousands of miles away to blow up things and people [and liberate a country and natural resources of course {and build stable democracies}], it seems that it’s just a matter of time before the waves wash up on shore, homeless vets, profoundly troubled young men (women) returning to a country way more concerned with the identity of the (i’m sure also profoundly troubled) young man who allegedly knocked up the younger sister of one of the tragic heroines of neo-americana, than with any goings on outside of the strip-mall to soccer practice existence many choose to lead here in these great states united.
bah, ultimately we need solutions, and not more bull-dung blogs of bitching and whining, lamenting the rapidly approaching downfall of western civ, right?
which brings us to the crew of winners fighting for their respective demo-repub votes . . . i certainly hope noone gets accused calling someone a “filipino monkey“

first things first: i’d like to say that i miss the information superhighway.
second things second: (maybe this should have been first things first {temporally at least}) when i get another job [preface that with if if you are one of those that may find that clause dubious] i will certainly miss “FUCK YOU YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE” being the very first thing i hear when i walk into work in the morning.

life would be better if everyone had one friend [only one is probably best] that was a character from a david lynch movie

i wonder if in thirty to forty years [if humanity has not merged w artificial intelligence by then, of course] the *modern rock* of today (avril, emo, and the rest) will be akin to doo-wop today, which mostly blends into one formulaic and predictable song. the more i ask that, though, the more i consider it a moot point . . .
“misery business” is a catchy jam, not gonna lie . . . and that chick really wails, but the rest of the cd sort of lags. after the hot single, the following tracks go limp in a phallo-anatomical way. the few songs before stay good when they stay syncopated and jumpy, and not revert to pop-punk cliche [sadly without the catchy pop-punk choruses.] i’d liken the lead singer hayley williams to an avril with pipes, an alanis sans-snippy-sophistication . . .

a few more weeks until i’m left coast once again - via a few states inbetween. is anybody else really craving some mighty might bosstones right now? things might be great in 2008; i guess we’ll find out soon.
maybe i should get another job. maybe i should sing another song. maybe i should just go along. rhyme! rock!
and funk!
may your new years be filled with funk. and eco-friendly fun of course. consider this my assertion of carbon neutrality in all issues of the sort.
maybe i should write more. maybe i should write less.
maybe i should read more. maybe i should read less.
i hope you all had yourself a very funk x-mas.
